Though British, Martin has taken a strong interest in what he regards as the wonderful diversity of the American Higher Education scene. He has taken part in numerous conferences and has attended programs at 148 US and Canadian campuses, to date. At the same time, he has continued to advise and support applications to the UK (including Oxbridge guidance), Hong Kong, Australia and elsewhere for hundreds of senior students.
Patrick has recently joined GRTalent as a part time counsellor and consultant, having spent 25 years working in Hong Kong local and international schools. He has more than 20 years of experience as a careers and higher education counsellor, supporting more than 2000 students in their applications to more than 30 different countries. He brings a strong background of school-based and counselling experience to the GRT team.
He has a wide range of teaching and mentoring experience that includes the school subjects of English Language and Literature, Science, Physical Education, Theory of Knowledge and Psychology. He has also coached basketball and rugby teams, has lead the Model United Nations group and has been the senior supervisor for the HKAYP Silver Award programme.
His passion is to support students and families in discovering their 『best fit』 with regards to their future pathways, and to enjoy seeing students progress towards a healthy and meaningful future in line with their interests, skills and aspirations.
His current studies are a reflection of his desire to better help students find hope and direction in their futures, which aligns with their talents, skills and interests.
